Nile and Jordan from brilliant band By The Rivers present a fun-filled reggae-infused set for the Weorgoran Pavilion.

18:30-19:00 Holly Holden y Su Banda

Holly Holden is a singer, songwriter and bassist from London, but you mightn’t guess it. A long-term love affair with Latin America and many years spent music-making in the region, most notably Cuba, transformed her sound from its original acoustic-folk into something much more sassy and syncopated.

Joining forces with drummer David Beauchamp and guitarist Frank Clark in 2015, Holly formed Holly Holden y su Banda – an electric trio whose signature ‘Tropical Soul’ sound is a Spanglish mash-up of sunny, sultry pop tunes and Caribbean beats. Imagine The Police fronted by a Latina Amy Winehouse and you’re getting somewhere close.

20:00-21:00 K.O.G (LIVE)

Born in Ghana, resident in Sheffield, K.O.G (Kweku of Ghana) is a prolific writer and virtuosic performer, comfortable across a wide range of styles from house and Afro-beats to Afro-funk, dancehall and jungle, electrifying live audiences with his wildly energetic stage presence and smashing every studio session out of the park on his recorded output. Though known for his incredible vocal performances, K.O.G is also a talented arranger and percussionist, from balafon and djembe to his trademark dinner tray….

As well as being the front man for much-loved 8-piece afro-funk outfit K.O.G and the Zongo Brigade, he is the front man for the new Onipa project (with Nubiyan Twist MD Tom Excell) and is working on collaborations with Afriquoi, Congo Natty, Umoja, iZem, Jus Now and The Busy Twist.

See him here in a powerful 4 piece live setup.
